    Chocolate Avenue Business Owner Needed for the Design Review Board

    Resumes will be accepted until May 17th. The new member must be a business owner in the Chocolate Avenue Preservation Overlay District. The board reviews proposals and issues Certificates of Appropriateness and permits for signs and material changes to buildings in the district.

  • Cocoa Castle Gets a Facelift

    As Cocoa Castle enters its 20th year of existence, upgrades to the aging and deteriorating structure are necessary. Over the next couple of weeks, several pieces of the wooden playground will be removed and replaced.  Upgrades will occur in phases.

    Cocoa Castle has been a very popular attraction enjoyed by many throughout the years. Unfortunately, the wooden structure is nearing its life span and we fully intend to replace it being cognizant of the visual character and appeal of the original design. Thank you in advance for your patience during this renovation.

  • Donate Blood at the Hershey Public Library

    In celebration of the Library’s 100th year anniversary, they have teamed up with the Central PA Blood Bank and created a “100 for 100 Campaign”.

    Donations will be collected on March 25, April 24, May 28, June 24, July 22, August 26, September 23, October 28, and November 25, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Hershey Public Library, Meeting Room #1. If a donor wishes to give at another location and wants the Library to receive credit, please give the donation workers at the other site the group #1072.

    Please donate and help us reach our goal of 100 pints of blood during our 100th year anniversary.

  • Yard Waste Collection
    11 March 2013

    Waste Management will collect an unlimited amount of yard waste one time a month April through October, on your trash/recycling collection day.

    Yard waste will be collected on the following weeks:

    April 8-12     May 6-10     June 3-7     July 8-12    
    August 5-9     September 9-13     October 7-11

    *Please note, the schedule is different from last year.
