Following the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) of 2021, the Township of Derry is committed to providing greater transparency in healthcare coverage. The CAA introduces a series of provisions to ensure employees have access to comprehensive information regarding health insurance plans and the costs they may encounter.

One of the key elements of the CAA is the Transparency in Coverage Rule, which requires health insurers and group health plans to provide clear, up-to-date pricing information for covered healthcare services. This includes the publication of both in-network and out-of-network pricing, which will help consumers make more informed choices about care. The goal is to empower employees by giving them the information they need to understand healthcare options, including potential out-of-pocket costs, before receiving services.

As part of our commitment to transparency, the Township of Derry has implemented a link to the following benefits.

The link above leads to the machine-readable file(s) made available in response to the federal Transparency Coverage Rule, which include negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed between health plans and healthcare providers. The machine-readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.
