ATTENTION: Pennsylvania American Water wants to inform residents in the greater Hershey and Mechanicsburg areas that, as part of our regular pipeline maintenance program, they will be temporarily changing the area water disinfection process. From 𝑴𝒂𝒚 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑱𝒖𝒍𝒚 𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, the systems in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, and York Counties will switch from chloramines (a combined disinfectant) to free chlorine. During this time, customers may notice a stronger chlorine taste or smell in their water. This change is only temporary and is standard practice to ensure the water mains remain clean and continue to deliver high-quality water.
