HOMESTEAD ROAD (PAVING & LINE STRIPING):
The Derry Township Public Works Department will be closing Homestead Road on Tuesday, August 27th, and Wednesday, August 28th, for the final stages of paving and line striping. The closure will affect the stretch of road from Route 322 to Route 743. However, access to the Catherine Hershey School in Hershey from Route 322 will remain available. The road closure will commence at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27th, and is expected to conclude by 7:00 AM on Wednesday, August 28th. Please exercise caution and plan your travel accordingly.
RIDGE ROAD/CHOCOLATE AVENUE:
PA American Water started working, July 23, 2024, to avoid disrupting customer service during the day. Affected customers have already been notified. After the initial evening work, construction will continue during the day until the project is completed. Please note that this work will impact the southbound lane of Ridge Road from Chocolate Avenue to 1st Street North, near the parking garage. This lane will be closed to accommodate equipment and trucks, and no left turns will be permitted from 1st Street North onto Ridge Road. Only the northbound lane will remain open. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the project.
